Throwback Song: Pedestrian – Hoyle Road (2013)

Each song Pedestrian releases sounds completely different from the others which precede it. Hoyle Road, released earlier this year, has become one of my favourite songs of all time. As soon as I heard it, the song struck a chord I didn’t know existed. As soon as the voice began to mournfully proclaim lyrics, I really noticed the actual sounds of the words, rather than their meanings. The song has a unique atmosphere, where for once the music is not dominated by the vocals. The words themselves only act as secondary precursors to the heavenly melody.

Both euphoric and melancholy, this tune is absolute genius. To truly appreciate it: first listen, without watching the video.
