Throwback: Jamie Principle- Your Love (prod. by Frankie Knuckles)

Produced by Frankie Knuckles ‘Godfather of House’, this song is an instantly recognisable slice of Chicago house at it’s very best. Still used in sets today, it is pretty timeless. The original song by Jamie Principle was premièred as a demo 3 years before this version was released on Trax Records. A wonderful synth hook, guitar chords and vocals with could be found in a tasteful version of Eurovision make this track the gem it is.

Friendly Fires did a cover of ‘Your Love’, changing it from being a soulful song to a rock-pop tune, higher pitched and with prominent, choppy guitar. In their 2006 version, the vocal duties are performed by the lead male singer and sound raw. It’s nice to hear how the song varies by genre.
