Robert Owens has had ample time to hone his talents via his varied, decade-spanning career. Along with Larry Heard and Ron Wilson he formed the legendary Chicago house group Fingers Inc in 1985, who charted a number of hits, before he founded the Musical Directions imprint in the 90s. His passionate vocals have since graced a variety of releases, including this one from Coldcut, the duo responsible for reputable label Ninja Tune.
The wonderful Henrik Schwarz remixed ‘Walk A Mile In My Shoes’ into an understated, sophisticated house gem. Featuring a rolling, goosebump-inducing bass line; supported by Owens’ elegant vocals and a sweet percussion section, this is definitely one worth digging into the pockets for.
