Nextup: Mala – 2 Much Chat

It may have felt like an eternity for the true DMZ headz from back in the day, but the moment has finally arrived for the release of a much sought after and loved tune – ‘2 Much Chat’ by Mala. Having greatly admired the sounds of Mala and DMZ for a long time, and having been lucky enough to experience part of the dubstep culture that built up around the legendary West Indian Centre in Leeds, it is great to have the opportunity to own a slice of the DMZ aesthetic that has had such a profound effect on the UK underground music scene.

DMZ tunes have always held a focus towards big club soundsystems, packing huge low end power that only the best speakers can do justice to. ‘2 Much Chat’ is the epitome of this ethos, carrying an explosion of bass and swirling vocals that even YouTube’s inhibiting qualities struggle to hold back (2:26 is all I’ll say). Note: Constant wheeling of this track when played in a club is mandatory.

Release: 16.12.2013

– Calum Carey
