Throwback: John’s top tracks of 2013

Florian Kupfer – Feelin’

Martyn summed this one up: “I don’t really do rewinds, but this track is always the game-changer in my sets; the point where I go harder or deeper – or both.”

Shlohmo ft. Jeremih – Bo Peep

Absolute dream team collaboration, one of the best voices in R&B meets one of the most innovative producers of the moment, and even better, the results don’t fall flat.

Kingdom ft. Kelela – Bank Head

Kelela, one the year’s best new artists, was introduced to us on Kingdom’s Vertical XL EP: this track took centre stage and alerted everyone to Kelela’s talents.

DJ Rashad – Rollin’

Rashad is in more restrained form than usual, letting the Jagged Edge sample speak for itself, and the results are one of the most original sounding tunes of the year.

The Mole – Lockdown Party (DJ Sprinkles’ Crossfaderama)

Clocking in at 12 minutes long, Sprinkles’ emix, which throws in samples of Mr. Fingers’s – Can You Feel It, is one of the most catchy and effective house tracks of the year.
