Nextup: Floating Points – King Bromeliad

About time! This year has been a dry one in the releases for Sam Shepherd, seeing as his excellent single ‘Wires’ dropped last year. He unveiled details about his new track ‘King Bromeliad’, forthcoming on Eglo Records – the label he runs with Alexander Nut – along with ‘Montparnasse’ however the release date is yet to be confirmed.

With his output consistently brilliant, it was high expectations that met the announcement and they have not been let let down. Beginning with scattering background mutters, this quickly builds into a fully-fledged jazz percussion, house-y bassline, disco-instrumental romp with funky organ notes and cheeky chimes, finally becoming something a lot deeper. So many different elements to this, I’m excited to hear the inevitable remixes.

Release date: TBA
