NEXTUP: Bleep: 10 – Various Artists

Launched in 2004 by Warp Records, Bleep works closely with other labels such as Ninja Tune (Bonobo), Brainfeeder (Flying Lotus) and R&S (James Blake), providing fans with a download ‘boutique’ of the best in independent music. For their tenth birthday, the site is releasing a stellar compilation featuring unheard tracks from the likes of Lone, Modeselektor and Nosaj Thing amongst others.

This is an all-synth, all-percussion extravaganza as some of the biggest names on the scene flaunt their talent. If you can’t wait for Lone’s new album in June, have a listen to a 30-second snippet of ‘Lizard King’, a charismatic follow-up to last year’s exceptional ‘Airglow Fires’. For something more aggressive, Modeselektor’s humorously named ‘I’m not into Twerk, I’m into KrafTwerk’ brings a shameless 70s vibe in homage to the legendary group. Bleep are also giving instant downloads of fresh tracks from Machinedrum and Fuck Buttons for all pre-orders. Forget Pizza Hut and the cinema; this is the true way to celebrate the big 1-0.

Release: 05.05.2014
