Throwback: Pearl Necklace – On a Mission

Many will remember the UK’s premier speed garage label from the 90s Nice n Ripe, but running quietly alongside as a sister label was the equally impressive Deep Trouble records.  A sound pushed by the likes of Grant Nelson and peaking with the releases of DJ Biggas ‘Mind Body and Soul‘ and the timeless Double 99 ‘Rip Groove’, Pearl Necklace’s ‘On a Mission’ is worthy candidate to propose that best represents it.

Classic chord developments, a swinging groove, shuffling highs; ‘On a Mission’ has all you’d want from a speed garage record. Impossible not to bounce along with, this one will draw the best out of the dancefloor.

Release: 1995
