Nextup: Events worth leaving the house for 25-28th July

The sun is shining, the weather is warm, so no doubt you’ll want to leave the house regardless of which events are on. With this in mind – you’ll definitely be looking for somewhere to go after several beers/cocktails outside – we’ve prepared our weekend roundup of the best events around Manchester.

Friday 25th
Soup Kitchen – meandyou_
The Trilogy Tapes with Will Bankhead & Rezzett-Live
So-called because of their beginnings releasing mixtapes by the likes of Black Lodge and Kassem Mosse, The Trilogy Tapes has gone from strength to strength, starting their own 12″ series. Perfect for the cool confines of Soup Kitchen, Will Bankhead and Rezzett will be leaning towards the left this Friday.

Antwerp Mansion – Room 2 Records
Turntabalist Exhibition Tournament ft. Ape Cult
Hip hop greatest from the Mancs-about-town. This Gets a speacial mention due to their open decks policy, so any budding DJ (within reason) gets the chance to hit up the decks.

Saturday 27th
The Miners – Now Then (free)
Mind on Fire
Part One slipped under our radar so more’s the reason to attend this edition. An all-day event featuring Manchester collective Mind on Fire amongst other gems such as  vocal sculptor and beatboxer, Jason Singh and Now Then & Flyin’ Easy Soul Club DJs playing the day to a close.

Kraak – Baba Sound Festival
Logos, Samrai
Another event making the most of the sunny weather – Baba Sound Festival is an all night and all-dayer, heading into Kraak Gallery in the evening. Expect summery vibes. Absolute bargain as this is on for around 11 hours! Grime, garage and reggae, perfect for the sunshine.

The Roadhouse – Hoya:Hoya
Illum Sphere, Eclair Fifi, Jonny Dub, Fox
Famed for their ‘secret guest’ parties, Hoya:Hoya return to their roots, bringing back longtime collaborator Fox to the decks. One of the strongest residents’ lineups in Manny.
