Manchester rising: Bower & Coey

From the darkest corner of the gloomy peak district come Manchester students Jim Coey and Jamie Bower.

They began cutting their teeth mixing EDM in their mate’s shed, before moving to Manchester to study, where they became entrenched in the #deephouse and #waveygarms culture of Fallowfield. This phase was a mere stepping stone and their tastes since have matured, Bower: “I’m into my house minimal, my clothes practical and durable, and my meal deals reduced” and Coey: “lo-fi, practical garms, comfy shoes.”

Inspired by the lo-fi sound of Lobster Theremin to the Romanian minimal scene, their sets border the line between strange and downright odd.

Their fave foods are “quiche and those choco puds that are melty in the middle.”
